Apple’s Secrets Revealed
Apple opens it’s doors to it’s secret iPhone testing facility
Apple has been ridiculed by the media because of the bend-gate saga that happened a while ago. It caused Apple to come open with its testing secrets. From amongst the many iPhones that have been sold, Apple has received a complaint from 9 consumers. Well, it is an iPhone and it is expensive, people are usually careful about it. They may just have been a wee bit extra careful about bending it. The popular incident called bend-gate might have signalled people to be a bit more careful. Apple has gone on publicly to announce that it is safe to use Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus and the phone has passed all of quality checks at Apple. The makers have assured that the phone is of required standard.
Does an announcement work?
However, a simple announcement wasn’t going to please anyone. Hence, Apple let the media into its testing facility which the media happily called torture chamber. Indeed, it is the torture chamber, with the number of tests that an iPhone is put through. Apple proved that all their phones go through a thorough testing before being launched out to the public. The video not only went viral but would literally snap the hearts of a million fan-boys. Yes, these iPhones go through the toughest tests against time before being launched into the market. Cruel, isn’t it? Thus, Apple has come back and come back strong.
My iPhone’s strongest!
Clearly, the iPhone is strong enough to stand the test of time on any given day and cannot really be broken down. It has been put through enough tests and is made of some very tough components. A standard iPhone is made out of steel, titanium, aluminium and glass, strengthened by ions. Thus, it sounds like too sturdy a formula to just as easily bend or break. A simple iPhone is not only put through the “torture chamber” but also goes through the pockets of numerous employees before it finally reaches the consumer. Hence, it is indeed a 100% tried and tested finished product that falls into the hands of the final consumer.
iPhone 6 Plus is the most tested device
The consumers then got curious and wanted to know how many of those handsets were actually tested. Apple responded saying that as many as 15000 devices had been tested before being launched into the market. The idea is to find a loophole before the consumers find one. A tough process indeed! According to Apple, iPhone 6 Plus has been the most tested phone so far.
You can sit on your iPhone!
One of the many things that the iPhones have to go through is, users sitting on them. Yes, users actually sat on the phones to see if they break or they don’t. Other than that, the iphone is also put through other physical testing such as pressing it hard, stressing it out as well as the torque that it goes through. Thus, the iPhone goes through some really tough tests. It was a smart move from Apple to invite the media into their testing room when bend-gate happened. It must have cleared a whole lot of customer apprehensions and doubts.
Unique & torturous tests for the iPhone
An iPhone goes through some very unique tests. For a start, it goes through pressure point cycling. When going through this test, the phone is tightly held with a lot of force and an equal pressure is put on the display to see if it conks up. This test is done to ensure that the phone can hold up its head in the toughest of times. It is scary to watch an iPhone go through all of that. Apart from that, there is another test called the “Sit test” where a person sits on a very hard surface with the iPhone in the back pocket. Only after the phone passes this test is it launched into the next phases. Looks like all the brand value does come at a price both literally and figuratively and sounds like it is worth it.
How well does it fair in your pockets?
The phone is actually tested in different pocket positions before it goes live into the final testing phases. Hence, one can clearly see that Apple cares. The videos of Apple’s testing facility along with the pictures are still available for all and sundry to take a look at. Yes, Apple’s iPhone facility has freaked out a lot of people but, at the same time reestablished a sense of trust in the brand. Yet again, there is a loophole in the whole fiasco. No one really has the guts to go check out the truth of the matter. Hence, there is little choice here but to believe Apple and its videos. No wonder they went viral. If you try to break a €800.00 phone, it is indeed going to go viral. Yet, it isn’t easy to gain the trust of customers once it breaks, but Apple has come off triumphant with substantial proof of its loyalty towards its customers and this is quite an achievement.
Apple did devise a smart strategy for a comeback. We all know if we were to break an expensive phone, it is bound to go viral, grab consumer attention. Wasn’t it a wonderful strategy? What do you think? It has seemed to work in their favour very well. Hats off to Apple for pulling this one off!
