iPhone 6 Stand Out Features
Apple, was co-founded on 1 April 1976 by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak at Cupertino, California. They started out by designing a simple computer board that could be sold to small business. They eventually went on to build a micro computer kit – Apple 1. The legacy has been continued by their launching of the new dazzling iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The dramatically thin iPhone 6 isn’t just bigger, more powerful and power efficient but arguably better in every aspect than it’s predecessors.
The smooth metal surface just dances it’s way with the Retina HD display. Perhaps a rare instance where hardware and software share a perfect synchronisation to make the next generation iPhone . The new generation iPhone 6 and 6 Plus has been intuitively packed with stainless steel , glass and anodized aluminium. The design showers a high aesthetic value as the anodized aluminium meets the cover glass that curves down and looks like a perfect bonding of glass and metal with no edges and no gaps.
Apple Inc made a simultaneous launch of iPhone 6 and iOS8 making navigation a seamless experience. Addition of innovative features like REACHABILITY makes interaction more smooth. In fact a simple double touch on the Home button makes the entire screen shift close towards the thumb. A left to right swipe makes the screen go back and the vice versa. Even the elongated volume buttons are easy to find by touch.
The impressive 1,920×1,080 5.5-inch display with 406 pixels per inch makes it a much larger phone. A grid of six by four apps easily fits on each page with extra four on the dock below. As far as comparison goes the resolution is lower than the rivals but more than enough dense. However the display seems so pressed up against the glass that basically the user feels that one is actually touching the pixels.
As Instagram still continues to receive innumerable selfies and other photos one can say that camera is one of the most important features in a smart phone. However Apple has stuck with only 8 megapixels of camera. However fortunately for Apple a combination of good lens and an advanced image processing software built in with a simple control makes the camera a good one and worth more than lots of pixels. However the trump card of Apple lies in their individual pixels s they are mostly bigger than their rivals (Technically speaking Apple pixels having 1.5 microns are bigger than 1.12 microns of Samsung Galaxy S5). Focus Pixels have been the new innovation this time around with the all new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. They have resulted in better contrast detection , nippy autofocus and crystal clear sharp snaps.
Apple has consistently excelled in camera over its competitors although it superbly easy to use. No adjusting of extra granular controls and white balance. Just a press on the screen until the a yellow box appears. Next to it is a sun icon with a line through it to adjust the light of the image and click.
Video recording has also been worked upon with the inclusion of HD filming at 60 frames per second. They also have an option for slo-mo ( a staggering 240 frame per second). However 4K videos are missing as compared to Apple’s rivals yet quality wise the footages look smooth and striking.
A very tricky term though, looking at the stats alone leave most of the high-end Androids falling flat on the face. iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus has a improved processor (named A8– a 1.4 GHz Apple processor). This is highly multitasking has a 64 bit chip that works on more pixels than the previous versions yet whizzes around without hiccups.
However when its comes to CPU, majority of mobile devices are based on ARM derived architectures. It is to be noticed that Apple as of date remains uniquely positioned by having a 64-bit chip on mobile. Apple has however disclosed that they have used a whopping 3 billion transistors in their A8 processor- the most ever known till date when we compare Snapdragon 805 chip (which is often referred to as the benchmark of processors), which has 700 million transistors.
The change in CPU-die size has however been drastic, the new one measuring 12.2 mm2 nearly 30% smaller than the 17.1 mm2 of Apple A7. Visibly all the remaining architecture remains the same but Apple Inc claims the CPU to have a 25% improvement as compared to its previous versions.
To be honest smartphones have a terrible battery life. The more the usage the more the drainage – a perfect recipe for disaster from which the previous iPhone’s were also affected . The previous iPhone 5 was tested to last a single SSD(Standard Smartphone Day). Fortunately enough the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus performs a full day and even leaps to the second. Additionally iOS provides useful warnings about apps which gives information about apps which consume data so that one can turn them off.
The basic iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus have a better and powerful hardware capable enough to serve the new iOS8 operating software. This should eventually lead to sparky games and powerful apps. In fact, Apple is a proud owner of their own Health app. Apple Pay is another striking feature worth mentioning which combines a Touch ID fingerprint sensor along with a newly arrived NFC chip to turn the phone into a contactless credit card.
Similarly there is VoLTE (Voice over LTE)- a promise by Apple to deliver voice calls via 4G data in cases where your 2G signal is weak but the terms apply to both the users have to have access to LTE networks and device.
The differences between the two new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus are not tremendous yet important . The 6 boasts of a 4.7 inch , 1344 x 750-pixel while iPhone 6 plus boasts of a 5.5-inch, 1,920 x 1,080-pixel along optical image stabilisation, running apps in horizontal landscape mode but its also bigger heavier and with a longer battery life.
For hardcore android fans, Android devices may cost less while having higher resolution and better battery life with removable SD cards and even removable batteries one should not expect to find all these in Appleland .
